PERU CLASSIC 12 DAYS
Know the most important destinations of Peru, discovering many cultural and natural wealth, we can also appreciate Inca, colonial and modern constructions; such as the pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern Pre-Hispanic City of Lima, the Colca Canyon where we will appreciate the flights of the Condors (Arequipa), travel on the high plateau and know the highest Lake Titicaca in the world and navigable (Puno) during this tour we will arrive to the capital of the Incas Cusco where we will be able to appreciate its famous architectures and wonderful citadel of Machu Picchu considered one of the wonders of the World.
ITINERARY
Day 01: Lima International airport to Hotel.
Arriving and Transfer from the Lima international airport to the Hotel. the rest of the day to relax and acquaint yourself. Overnight at the hotel in Lima.
Day 02: Lima - City Tour.
In the morning we will start the city tour, with its 2000 years of history, begins at the colonial center of the city, with its historic buildings surrounding the splendid Plaza Mayor. View the impressive Palace of the Archbishop with its fine carved balcony, the opulent Government Palace, the offical residence of the President, and the Cathedral of Lima whose first stone was laid by Pizarro. Continue to the Monasterio of San Francisco complex with its magnificent tiles, exceptional paintings and world – renowned library. Then we will visit to the Larco Herrera Museum, considered the best museun in Lima, here admire the world’s largest collection of pre-columbian masterpieces and a stunning exhibition of gold and price jewels. Return to the hotel, free afternoon. Overnight at the hotel in Lima. (B.)
Day 03: Lima - Arequipa.
Transfer to the airport after breakfast for your flight to Arequipa, the remarkable colonial city in the desert mountains the Andes.
The city tour starts at 2.30 pm. We will star by visiting to the Santa Catalina Monastery, the Yanahuara district which has excellent views of the Misti Volcano and return to the hotel. The tour takes around 4 hours. Back at the hotel passengers. The guide will provide information about the Colca Canyon, give times and other details as well as answer questions. Day 04: Arequipa - Colca Canyon.
After the breakfast. Pick up from your hotel by the guide and tourist bus will take them to the chivay town located in the Colca Valley (3633m). Along the route was pass small villages and we may be able to see locals herding Llamas and Alpacas and a wide variet of birds. Several snow covered peaks and volvanoes over 6000 meters high can also be seen on the ways to Colca Canyon. In the afternoon it is possible to visit the hot thermal baths of Chivay. Day 05: Colca Canyon - Puno.
This morning, you will see the dramatic Colca Canyon, after the breakfast we take the bus to the lookout point. The Canyon is also home to the extraordinary Andean Condor. Although the population of condors is dwindling in South America, at the Colca Canyon you will have the rare opportunity to see them soaring gracefully on the thermal drifts created in the Canyon. From here we can observe condors ascending from the canyon going up on the strong winds to higher areas. After this, we take a short walk along the canyon visiting small villages. afterwards we will retur to Chivay and take the bus to Puno, this drive can be up to about 8 hours. The journey takes you past tranquil lake lagunillas, home to a variety of birdlife, llama, sheep, and vicuña. Later you arrive in Puno, your first spectacular view is of prinstine Lake Titicaca and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Puno (B.)
Day 06: Puno - Lake Titicaca.
After breakfast, transfer to the port in Puno. From here we will take the boat and begin to sail on the Titicaca Lake, we star by visiting the floating islands of Los Uros. You will meet a humble Aymara family and learn about their farming methods, local customs, daily struggles. Continuing with our tour we will visit the Taquile Island, here we take a walk on the island you see Taquile village and share a specially prepared farm lunch with the family. Return to Puno. Day 07: Puno - Cusco.
In the morning, after the breakfast transfer to the bus station depart Puno and travel to the ruins of the 15th century Temple of Wiracocha in the archaeological complex at Raqchi. The bus ride can take up to 9 hours, and it will stops at different attractions along the way incluiding La Raya, the pass which is the highest point between Puno and Cusco with excellent photo opportunities, then you arrive to Cusco and transfer to the hotel. Day 08: Cusco – City Tour.
Free morning. Take time to explore some of the city’s stunning sights or shop for some of the finest handicarfts and textiles in all of Peru. In the afternoon, join your group on a tour of Cusco that takes you to the impressive Colonial Cathedral, with its collection of over 400 paintings from the Cusqueña school and to the extraordinary Temple of the Sun at Koricancha, then we will visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Temple of Qenko, Fortress of Pucapucara and finally the temple of Tambomachay. Day 09: Cusco – Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes.
Breakfast in the hotel. Enjoy this morning at leisure in the Sacred Vallley to explore some of the ancient ruins. Explore the Inca Pisac ruins and the village of Pisac. Then we will continue to Urubamba, where we have lunch in a tourist restaurant. Afterwards, visit the impressive Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo, an ancient complex of temples and terraces towering high over the valley, the last stand of the Incas in their defense against the Spanish conquistadors. Finally we will Take the train to Aguas Calientes. Overnight at the hotel in aguas Calientes. (B.L.)
Day 10: Aguas Calientes - Machu Cusco - Cusco.
After the Breakfast we will take bus to Machu Picchu sanctuary arriving there. We will enjoy a guided tour for 2 hours. After that, we will have the opportunity to freely explore the wonderful lost city of the Incas. After our visit we will go back to Aguas Calientes, where we can enjoy a relaxing bath at the local hot spring. In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco. Overnight at the hotel in Cusco. Day 11: Cusco - Lima.
Transfer from the hotel to airport, where we will board the internal flight with destination Lima after transfer to your hotel. Free in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel in Lima (B)
Day 12: Lima to International Airport
Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your departure flight. (B.)
