Ausangate is situated in the Cordillera Vilcanota in the department of Cusco, It is one of the most remote high Andean zones of Peru and offers a spectacular trekking circuit along snowcapped around this mystical mountain. Of course, we will also experience the breathtaking Rainbow Mountain and red Mountain valley – one of the most beautiful and timeless, natural landscapes in all South America and the world

ITINERARY

First Day: Cusco-Santa Maria.

We'll leave Cusco at 07:30 a.m in a tourist bus to "Abra Malaga", we’re gonna stop to enjoy the snowy mountain "Veronica". Then, we'll descend to San Luis from where the descent begins in bikes at about 05 hours to reach the town of Santa Maria. During the tour, we will see the archaeological centers of Huamanmarca and diverse landscape of mountains and jungle, along the way; we will see the jungle birds, medicinal plants and exotic fruits such as mango, pineapple, papaya, avocado, coffee, coca tea, and visit local families in their daily routine.

In the afternoon at 03.00 p.m, we will have the opportunity to take a Rafting tour on Urubamba River, whose rapids ranging from level III and IV. (Optional) Dinner and overnight (B, L, D).

Second Day: Santa Maria - Santa Teresa.

Breakfast at 06:00 a.m and then, we'll start to walk along the banks of Urubamba River in the way different varieties of fruit plants, wild animals, medicinal plants that the locals use to cure their illnesses are. After two hours of walk, we'll enter the pure original Inca stone path at 1,758 masl. From that point, you might see the snowy peak of Salkantay, then we're gonna walk two hours to Qellomayo where we'll have lunch in a country restaurant. We'll keep walking along the river bank to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, before reaching the thermal baths of Oroya pass by a peasant using the Cocalmayo community in the thermal baths have an hour and a half and then we're gonna walk for 45 minutes or if you want you can take the car that is not included, the value is 3 soles but (it) may vary. Dinner and lodging in Santa Teresa.

Third Day: Santa Teresa - "Hot Waters/Aguas Calientes”.

After breakfast, we'll start our walk towards "Hidroeléctrica", we'll go through a narrow canyon where the climate is very pleasant apart from wet, on the way, we will see beautiful waterfalls, mountains covered with enough vegetation, we will see banana plantations, cocoa, oranges, coca, etc. Lunch will be at "Hidroeléctrica", then later, we'll continue along the railroad tracks where we're gonna see beautiful flowers and greenery after three hours of walk, we'll reach the town of "Aguas Calientes" where we will have the opportunity to visit the hot springs. Dinner and overnight.

Fourth Day: Machu Picchu.

At around 04:00 a.m we will get ready for going to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, we’ll climb a path through the jungle, thus we'll have the opportunity to see the sunrise, after we registered in the checkpoint of the park at 06:20 a.m, we'll enjoy the sunrise if we are lucky, then we will continue Machu Picchu guided tour visiting places like "Inti Watana", Temple of the Condor, the Sacred Rock and other guidance is two hours after you have free time to climb the mountain of Machu Picchu, from where you can enjoy an incredible view of the citadel of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, we'll descend to the village to return to the tourist train from the village of Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo, where our tourist bus will wait for you to transfer us to Cusco (Breakfast).
