LARES - MACHUPICCHU 4D/3N
The Lares trek is an excellent alternative to the Inca Trail, the route offer authentic Andean communities whilst being surrounded by stunning mountain, lakes and valleys landscapes. It starts at a small village in the Sacred Valley.
ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco - Lares - Wacawasi.
Pick up from your hotel in tourist transport to go the Sacred Valley. We travel through the sacred valley to hot spring of Lares, where we will enjoy the hot springs. After lunch. Then we will continue our walk to our campsite in Wacawasi. Dinner and spend the night. (L.D.)
Day 02: Wacawasi – Patacancha.
After breakfast, we go to the first activity of the day: observation of Alpacas fabric weaving. Then we will start our climb to Abra de Ipsaycocha (4400 m.a.s.l.) with beautiful views of Vilcanota mountain range, observation of flora, fauna and communities. Here we have lunch. Then we will descend to Patacancha where we set up our camp and have dinner. (B.L.D.)
Day 03: Patacancha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes.
After breakfast, we start walking downhill to Patacancha to Willoc and Pumamarca. Where we will observe traditional textile and enjoy the Inca Terraces. Afterwards we depart to Ollantaytambo, we will stop for lunch. Then we will board the Train to Aguas Calientes, when we arrive in Aguas Calientes, we bring you to your hotel and have dinner. (B.L.D.)
Day 04: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco.
After the Breakfast we will take bus to Machu Picchu sanctuary arriving there. We will enjoy a guided tour for 2 hours. After that, we will have the opportunity to freely explore the wonderful lost city of the Incas. After our visit we will go back to Aguas Calientes, where we can enjoy a relaxing bath at the local hot spring. In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco. (B.)
