CHOQUEQUIRAO TREK 5D/4N
Choquequirao is an Inca town formed by small sites spread out in rubblework that in its adjoining constructs a complex metropolis similar to those of the other regions placed on the crest of the hill by the same name Choquequirao.
ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco - Cachora – Chiquiska.
Pick up from your hotel at 06:00 am, then we will begin our journey to the village of Cachora, where we will meet our porter and their muler. And then we will begin our trek along this path and we will see the most beautiful scenery in the area and get to Abra Capuliyoc (2915 m.), where we will enjoy amazing views of the deep Apurimac River valley with snow-capped peaks all around. After we will have 3 hours descent on the trail to our first camp in Chiquiska. (L.D.)
Day 02: Chiquiska - Santa Rosa – Marampata.
After an early breakfast, we will continue our walk for approximately 1 hour to arrive at Playa Rosalina near the Apurimac River, where we will cross a typical local bridge. Then we will begin to ascend the mountain to Santa Rosa (2115 m.a.s.l.) where we will have lunch, after lunch we will have 3 hours for climbing up to Marampata. Dinner and spend the night. (B.L.D.)
Day 03: Marampata - Choquequirao – Marampata.
After breakfast, we will walk from Marampata to Choquequirao (3035 m.a.s.l.), and on the way we will see variety of plants and flowers. As soon as we arrive to this Inca complex we will visit the farming terraces of Paqchayoc and the house of the waterfall, after which we return to Marampata our camping site. (B.L.D.)
Day 04: Marampata - Santa Rosa - Chiquiska.
After breakfast, we will begin the descent toward the deep canyon, heading toward our lunch spot at Playa Rosalinda, passing by Marampata and Santa Rosa along the way. After our lunch and a rest, we will continue to the village of Chiquiska. (B.L.D.)
Day 5: Chiquiska - Capuliyoc - Cachora – Cusco.
After a good breakfast, we begin our return for the same one in route to Cachora, where we will climb for an approximate time of 2 hours and 30 min. to Capuliyoc pass (2915 m.a.s.l.) in this itinerary we will appreciate enough flora and exotic fauna, see panoramic of imposing snowy, from here we will have 4 hours until you reach the village of Cachora and to continue our return to Cusco.
